Cate Love, Editor-In-Chief
Cate Love is a senior and this year’s co-editor in chief of The Leopard. Cate has written for The Leopard for 3 years and has loved the opportunity it has given her to improve her writing and share her ideas on the topics she cares about.
Cate was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah with her sister, brother, and dog. She loves to spend time with her family and is especially close with her older sister. Cate loves to travel with her family and has had the opportunity to go to many amazing places. Her favorite place she has traveled to is the Netherlands because she loved the history, architecture, landscapes, and culture. She hopes that as she gets older, she will continue to travel and explore.
Cate is also a 4th-year-member and the Vice President of East High’s Dance Company. Cate started dancing when she was 3 years old and has loved it ever since. She loves the community and friends she has gained from dance.
When Cate is not dancing or doing homework, she loves to bake, read, listen to music, and hang out with her friends. Although she loves going on walks and looking at beautiful scenery, Cate would probably prefer to be indoors. Especially if it means she is rewatching her favorite TV series, Gilmore Girls, for the 100th time.
After high school, Cate plans on attending college out of state and pursuing a pre-med track. Cate volunteers at Primary Children’s Hospital and has loved getting to work with kids. This experience has solidified her desire to one day become a doctor, and she hopes it will give her the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives.
Cate has always had an interest in writing, but has had the opportunity to improve her skills and grow in journalism. Cate loves journalism because it allows her to hear the ideas and perspectives of her peers and provides a positive environment for everyone to grow. She feels journalism has also given her the opportunity to express herself and write creatively in ways she is not always able to in other classes. As an editor, she hopes to help her classmates improve their own writing and feel positive encouragement and a space to grow. Cate is excited for this year in journalism and hopes to continue to grow during her senior year.
